Resources and Volunteering to Help Kick Covid!
Every day, our state is a little bit closer to moving forward from the pandemic of COVID-19. After a long wait, all Kansas City residents 16 years and older are now eligible to get the Coronavirus vaccine, even if they don’t have qualifying health conditions. This news provides much relief for those who have concerns for their health or feel they'd like to help their community by receiving the vaccine.
Vaccination Resources
Our Kansas City lawyer Kevin McManus wants to do everything he can to help his friends and neighbors avoid unnecessary illness or another long quarantine. He's helped gather some great information in his personal community efforts during Covid.
If you’re currently looking for a vaccine, here are some resources to help you get your shot.
- Twitter. You can find available times in your area by following Kansas City Vaccine Watch on Twitter.
- Vaccine Finder. You can search for a vaccination appointment and get more information on the COVID-19 vaccine by using VaccineFinder.
Volunteering - Another Way to Help!
If you want to do even more to help keep our community safe, consider volunteering at a local vaccine clinic. Volunteers are critically important – they greet people, perform post-vaccine monitoring, and handle other administrative tasks like getting patients checked into the system and entering vaccine card information into the state database. Their efforts allow trained medical professionals to focus on administering vaccines.
Kevin and his wife volunteered through the Medical Reserve Corps of Kansas City at a several different clinic locations in the metro area over the past month, including Swope Health Center in Kansas City. They met some fantastic people and found the whole experience incredibly rewarding.
Kevin was even able to receive the vaccine after one of my shifts!
Remember: everyone is now eligible to get the vaccine – and it doesn’t cost anything to get one.
